About the Role
We are seeking a polished, professional, and detail-oriented Account Representative - Inside Sales to support a high-value client account representing approximately 35% of total business volume. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in B2B inside sales, account management, and vendor-managed inventory (VMI) within the distribution industry. **This is not a position that does sales / gains commission. This is a focused / polished professional with previous account management and/or inside sales to support a large $20million account. The right-hand person to the head of the account.
This position is open due to a retirement and offers the opportunity to work closely with the Purchasing Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless order processing, inventory forecasting, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a major client account valued at $20M annually
Create and process high-volume, multi-line sales orders (80-90 lines per order)
Monitor and manage vendor-managed inventory (VMI) systems
Forecast inventory needs and proactively generate client purchase orders
Ensure on-time delivery and accurate stock levels
Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and international shipping teams
Provide pricing and quotes; manage client communications professionally
Maintain accurate data entry in ERP systems and Excel
Work across multiple levels of the organization to support client needs
Qualifications
3-5+ years of experience in Inside Sales or Account Management
Proven experience in vendor-managed inventory (VMI) and forecasting
Strong background in the distribution industry (buying from suppliers and reselling to customers)
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
Experience with international logistics and shipments
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage a full desk with high volume, but not high stress
